Which one is a database package?

A database package is a 3rd Party database product purchased/licensed, so that a company’s IT programmers don’t have to write the code to create the database system themselves.

Some IT departments allow their programmers to write their own relational database management systems (such as in the 64 - bit PERL language - relational flat files indexed by persistent key/value stores), so that software/upgrade costs and user/site licensing are waived. Also waived is the need to hire a dedicated DBA to install/maintain the database.

The IT programmer(s) do the work of the dedicated DBA in this case
